Self convidence?
I didn't really know what category to put this in, so i hope it is in the right one. Sorry if it isn't. I really have a problume with self convidence. I am really shy, and never know what to say to people to keep a convo going. It takes me a long time to be able to really open up to people. I get really neurvous when i am in a large group of people. I always feel like everyone is judging me and dosent like me. When I was in 6th grade i always hung out with the popular kids then one day one of the girls called me and was like we voted you out of our group. I know it is really childish and rediculous. But it has really impacted me since then and I have forgiven some of those girls and moved on, but ever since then I have not had much self convidence. I am a junior, and i feel like I only have one close friend and the rest are just people to talk about, I really want to overcome my shyness and low self covidence. So any tips or advice. I know it sounds weired what happend to me in 6th grade but it really impacted me. Sorry so long and I dont think I am spelling covidence right because it looks way wrong so sorry. Thanks in advance!

Okay, I had somthing similar to this except a little bit worse happen to me last year.
I spent the whole summer so pissed off at all of these people & I wondered what it was that I did wrong. But finally a few weeks ago, I realized something. These people make up stuff & say stuff to start crap simply because they`re bored & they have no life. It has nothing at all to do with you. I`m sure they`ve done it to tons of people before. Plus, do you really want to worry about what they`re saying as soon as you walk about of them? The people that I was friends with .. if someone walked out of the room, they`d start talking about them rather they did anything or not.
The first month of school, I was basically saying what you`re saying. I had absolutely no self confidence & over half of my day was spent replaying everything that happened the year before. Finally I was thinking one day & .. well, you`re no different than anyone else. With the shy people, most people think they`re really nice anyways & they won`t believe a word the 'popular' people tell them about you, so don`t worry about that. & trust me, no one is judging you. Now I mean, if you go to school with a lime green shirt with a huge hole on the side, some purple capris pulled up to your chest, & some terrible looking suspenders .. you might get some second looks & get a judged a little bit. Haha. Trust me, there`s alot of people who those stupid kids have done this to & there`s even more people who hate them. Sure, they think everyone likes them ... but not everyone is stupid. Most people have seen how mean they really are & they know they don`t wanna be friends with people like that.
If you see someone who looks nice & is at least smiling, say hey to them. Or at lunch, go up to someone who looks nice & ask if you can sit there. 98% they won`t say no. =]
It`ll only take about three weeks to get kinda good friends though, & that way you`ll probably have started being friends with their friends. & then you can just keep building from that.

6th grade thing is not weird about the same thing happened to me in 7th, but w/a letter. LOL don't worry about other people. I am rather shy as well and just kind of let other people come to me. In the mean time I make my self look as hot as possible every single day. This way at least you will have plenty of guys talking to you. You never know what you will get for looking great (free food, clothes, jewelry, tests --> some of my examples). Once this builds up your confidence you will have more guts to talk to others I promise! :-)
