I'm currently in a relationship with my best friend of one year.
We've only been dating for about a month, but we had definitely been best friends for at least one year before I said yes.
He asked me, because he said he'd really liked me for a while, and all I said was "As long as you don't get a new best friend."
Mostly, we're the same people. He's still my best friend, just now we kiss.
He actually said "I think we're the same, except now we're more intimate."
I'm completely happy with where I am.

im in a relationship with one of my best friends. like everyone else, it took me like 2 months to actually say yes to him bc i didnt want to ruin the friendship [as a matter of fact, i ended up asking him out after he dropped major hints over and over that he wanted to but didnt want to be rejected - guys and their pride.. haha anyways]. its the best relationship ive ever been in. weve been together for about 14 months, and were on a break right for other reasons now but basically nothings changed and we do plan to get back together soon. he has asked me to marry him and i do expect him to be my first. our first kiss was totally unexpected for me, and it was before we even started dating, but every kiss we have is amazing. were one of those couples that everyone can see the love we have for each other you know?
basically, dont reject a potential love for fear of losing the friendship. yes it can happen, but it really depends on the friendship you already have. do what you feel is right. i took a chance, and it was one of the best decisions ive made.

my best friend who i kinda had a crush on since i met him, asked me out about 3 months into our friendship. We have alot in common, but then again we are so different.. hes loud and obnoxious, and im quiet and shy... but we have alot of other things in common! Our first kiss was awsome! we never french kissed (Yet... he may be coming over this weekend to hang out, and thats never happened before, so idk what will happen :) )we've never had sex (dont forget im only 14 and hes 13, and im not that kinda girl)

I will tell you that he was my very best friend. We dated maybe 3 months, and then broke up. We thought we would be perfect for one another, but ended up the opposite.
Are we still friends? No.
I figure the quickest way to lose a friend is to date him.
