frizzcure what to do with poor results now damaged hair
Question Posted Friday September 21 2007, 12:11 am
i got the frizzcure and it ruined my hair. worked more like a straightener instead of a frizz remover. i now have lifeless, frizzy, raggy hair. it is very long betwen my bra strap and my rearend. i was told by another hairdresser that i will have to cut off at least 3-4 inches of dead hair. i am devastated. i've been growing it our for 3 1/2 years so i can donate it for cancer patients! what can i do? the salon that did it gave me credit at the salon but didn't do anything to repair my hair- can it even be fixed or reversed? i want my curls back- i have none!please give me advice on what to do. thank-you.

I am really sorry- but you will have to cut it, and you wont be able to donate it because it is dead and fried. You can get it cut right to the start of where you got the frizzcure, and get a new hairstyle! Try side bangs, and many layers!
Hope I helped, and im sorry! [ ASAPcamille's advice column | Ask ASAPcamille A Question ]

You can always cut more off. Condition your hair a lot and use non-sulfate shampoos (ones that don't have sodium laureth/lauryl or ammonium laureth/lauryl) sulfate. Creme of Nature makes a good one. What your hair needs right now is moisture. I also reccomend Nature's Gate Jojoba conditioner. It's cheap and you can get it at Whole Foods or another healthfood store. Look at their site to see if they have a store locater. Go to www.naturallycurly.com too! They'll help you out so much! Go to the Curlmunity tab and go to the forums. The people there are friendly and would love to help you get your curls back! Oh yeah, and my username is one way street. [ advice_me's advice column | Ask advice_me A Question ]

As it is, the dead, ruined hair is no good for donation. They need strong, healthy hair. You have really no choice but to cut off the hair and start over. :(
As for what you can do, since the salon gave you credit, apply it towards a deep conditioning treatment.
Purchase a good deep conditioning treatment you can use at home weekly. They will be able to tell you a good brand at the salon.

Get a new look, dont think of it as a bad thing, think WOW i get a makeover!
You can get layers, sidebangs, or a cute new style.
Talk to the hairdresser, maybe what they cut can still be donated, but if not, wait til your hair grows back.
Its so sweet of you to donate to locks of love, i did that when i was younger.
