hay i think your old enough to choose who you want ot live with and if your parents go to court with this then they will probably ask you where you want to live anyway. i think you should just discuss this with both your parents at the same time and tell them the reasons why.

if your mum has a problem with this that just
make sure that your mum doesnt think you love her any less cos you'd rather live with your dad just tell her the reasons why and that you will still see her, stay there from time to time and visit her a lot. hope i helped! xoxox sally

I believe that you would have to go to court if your mom contested it since you are still a minor. My advice for you is to wait it out for one more year. Once you turn 18, you are legally and adult and your mom can't stop you from going to live with your dad. It's really not worth all the court fees, lawyers, time, pain, etc. when you're only a year away from being able to move in with your dad hassle free. Good luck! :)

There are many factors to consider here... If your parents have joint custody and your mom agrees to let you move, it should be pretty simple and you probably won't need to go to court. However, if your mom has legal guardianship of you and doesn't want you to move with your dad, you might have to go to court to get her to let you. The good news is that most judges will take your preference into consideration... especially at your age. Basically, I think you need to talk to your parents and explain what you want to do. Talk to your dad first and have him talk to your mom with you if you think she will not like the idea. There might be some paperwork to do and things like that so the sooner you talk to them the better. If nothing else, just be glad that you will soon be 18 and can go where ever you want!
