I personally have had braces, so I know what it's like. Don't worry, they won't give you a lisp because they will be on the front of your teeth where they won't interfere with your tongue. I'm sure you'll still be able to sing just fine.
advicer answered Sunday September 16 2007, 6:20 pm: It can, but it might not. When I first got braces, it didn't at all. However, when my friend got them, it did. But, she also got this metal bar thing behind her bottom teeth because her tongue was pushing her teeth forward or something. But that lasted like a week. My Spanish teacher had them and she had a lisp. I'm not sure if that was because of the braces or not, she just got them off and I didn't pay attention. Anyways, if it does, it most likely won't last more than a week. Nothing to worry about. :) [ advicer's advice column | Ask advicer A Question ]

I reckon you'll be fine though. It didn't affect me or my friends but I know it did to someone else because their mouth was pretty swollen.
Don't worry about it. You should be used to it by the time your audition comes. [ thelaura's advice column | Ask thelaura A Question ]
