Driver's Ed

Question Posted Monday September 10 2007, 8:41 pm

I start driver's ed soon & I was wondering if anyone knows what you actually do?? It's 30 hours classroom time & 6 hours on the road. Obviously on the road, they teach you how to drive & get practice in. What do you do during class though?? Is it all lecture or is there activities?? Anyone take driver's ed?? Thanks!!

In my driver's ed class, the instructor talked a lot and had us watch some really cheesy videos. They were so cheesy it was hilarious. Usually at the end of each class day we would take a test on what we learned that day. Don't fret, because they're pretty easy. There aren't exactly activities to do, you pretty much just sit there. It helps to have a friend in there with you, so if you don't know anyone, sit next to someone and start a conversation. You'll be glad you did.

Good luck!

You'll watch the most boringt videos in existence and take practice tests that are incredibly easy to cheat on.

I don't know what school you go to, but here in my school it's neither lecture nor activities. It is the most boring class ever. All we do is take tests/quizzes after we watch videos on driving safety. That's all. Then we have to go out when we are 16 to get our permit after we get the 6 hours of driving instruction (that's not a part of our school's driving education program) from some other driving school. In the 6 hours, yeah, that's where you actually go behind the wheel. In the classroom they teach you how to drive theoretically, so you learn the rules before getting on the road.

you take small quizzes on safty issues, road rules, speed limits, learn your signs, what those peddles on the floor are for, how to park, driving conditions like when your in the rain, pretty basic. one good thing is after you complete this course you will have lower insurance rates for life which is great. drive safe and remember when you see someone you dont like dont hit the gas and run them over, YOUR INSURANCE WILL RAISE [ha ha] BRIE
