i have a 91 accord lx and when i turn on the air conditioner the car gets to where it wonts to run hot, could you tell me why?

If you have an electric fan, it may not be working.
If you have a belt driven fan with clutch, the clutch may be bad.
It could be other things, but those are the quickest easiest things to check first.
