okay so i totally bombed my 9th grade year of high school. I finished with a 2.4 :\
and now im in tenth grade.
i want to get into oxford university.
i know this may sound stupid but would i still be able to get in if i raise my grades?
and what kind of things look good on a college application.i know they talk about this in 11th grade but i want to start preparing now.
thankss SOOO much!
right now, you're GPA is at a C (non-weighted i suppose?)
you can PROBABLY bring it up to a B if you work extremly hard and too EXTREMLEY WELL on finals (if your school has those i nkow iin ohio they are VERY important and count as like.. 1/3 of your GPA each year.
winteromancex answered Saturday September 1 2007, 4:47 pm: sorry, but for Oxford you can't. Colleges look at all years and taking it easy your freshman year doesn't look good. You would need a 4.0 unweighted GPA and even Higher Weighted, so unfortuantely, you will not get accepted there. Sorry :(

After-school activities, clubs, community service, etc. all look really good on applications. But don't overcommit yourself and go crazy over it. Joining three clubs and devoting a ton of time and effort looks a lot better than joining every society in school just for the sake of being there & burning yourself out.

I could be wrong, but colleges mainly look at your JR and SR year of high school. But raising your grades now will make raising your grades for those years easier.
