Question Posted Saturday September 1 2007, 12:19 am
Ok I kinda think this a health question ( since health is mind body and state) but Im TERRIFIED OF FLYING ON AIRPLANES!!!!! I've never actually done it before but I fear terrorists, bombs, and crashing:( Now I realise that this rarely happens ( Twenty planes fly over my house and land everyday) but there's a part of me thats super terrified. But I really want a career that would have me flying all over the world at diffrent times ( Im a threater girl and am intending to major in threatre and go onto to big things) Can somebody tell me if hypnosis helps or tell me how to get over it please?:)
If you try hypnotherapy, try to see someone who has been recommended to you, as it is expensive and you need to know that they have been successful with this phobia. [ isis's advice column | Ask isis A Question ]
zheart100 answered Saturday September 1 2007, 12:57 pm: i am the same way about flying but as said before crashing or anything else is very rare ...you barely ever here about an air plane crash..so dont worry i no how hard it is. to over come that...i fly all the time...like i mean all the time every freakin week almost and it terrifies me...try to tell your self nothing is wrong other poeple are with you...and there all taking that same chance as you ..you'll never get over the fear of flying untill you actually get on an airplane and fly somewhere...yess its gonna be scary but tyr to water and ipod dont look out the window and they usally show a movie on the airplane and there also food air plane food that should keep you busy through the entire flight...try it i no its hard and scary when you think about it but tyr not to beacuse it only makes it worse ...
I, too, have a fear of flying and someday hope to overcome it.
Points to remember though, are accidents and terror attacks are EXTREMELY rare. Each day you take risks and can't be certain what may happen to you. You're more likely to get struck by lightning than something go wrong on your flight!
There's lots of other helpful sites on Google, too. So take a look if you have time, by browsing "fear of flying" etc.
