I've been hearing green tea aids weight loss as it increases your metabolism but is this true or is it another money making fact for diet companies?
How much tea is too much?
And which tea am I best drinking 1-3 hours after a meal? Green or peppermint?
Green would be good because of the metabolism thing but peppermint apparantly helps digestion. So which?
amarand answered Friday August 24 2007, 6:46 pm: Green tea actually is good for weight loss but it is usually caffeinated so its not great to drink too much after a meal because then you might not be able to sleep and sleeping burns calories, so that would kinda defeat the purpose. I haven't heard anything about peppermint tea actually making you lose weight, but if its good for digestion there's no harm in drinking it. I would stick with a decaf green tea, though. You don't need to buy special green tea that is geared toward weight loss, just any green tea will work. Harney and Sons' is good. Just don't drink it with sugar or milk..if its really too bitter for you a little honey is fine. [ amarand's advice column | Ask amarand A Question ]
