***probably not a good idea for guys to read this question.
I'm going to start off saying that before my boyfriend and I became physical we both were COMPLETELY pure (we were each other's first everything). Now to my question....
It seems like every time my boyfriend and I have sex the inside of my thighs and vagina gets irritated. A few days later I feel like I have a yeast infection. We have tried different brands of condoms and the same thing happens every time. We've even tried different kinds (lubricated, not lubricated, spermacide...you get the idea). The only time I don't get irritated in that area is when we don't use a condom (don't worry, I'm on birth control!!).
So, could I be allergic to the latex? If so, why don't surgical gloves irritate my skin?
The problem is that while they make non-latex condoms that work for birth control, they do not
protect against STDs and AIDs.
I hesitate to tell you not to use condoms since
they do protect from diseases. However continued
use while you have an allergy could cause you to
get some even more severe reactions. If you are in a long term committed relationship however, it is an option.
I heard on Dr Dean Edells radio program one time,
but can't find it on the internet to save my life at the moment, to do this. Have him use a regular condom, and then cover that condom with the non latex (usually sheepskin) condom. This may make
him a little less sensitive but it would protect you. The sheep skin condoms can be very thin from
what I have read, so it may not be to bad. [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
