Question Posted Wednesday August 22 2007, 11:07 pm
i'm trying to lose weight.
i'm 5'2, 130 lbs.
i want to be 110 by my birthday, which is december 7th.
I think this is a pretty realistic goal because i worked it all out and i'd need to lose about a pound a week, maybe a pound and a half.
there are some problems though.
one, i'm really bad at commitment, and i get bored easily. plus i'm kind of lazy.
two, i'm italian, and my mother was born in italy so every meal i have involves some sort of bread, and i eat pasta every other day.
three, i'm addicted to sugar. i can't help it at all.
can anyone make some suggestions of like workout routines i should try or how to work around my carb issues?
i have a treadmill, but i can't really run more than a mile at a time.
i got these tips from a homeremedy book...
I tryed the tomato remedy and it worked great..I've losed all the weight i wanted.. plus you can eat whatever you want too and still lose weight

Try exercising 3-4 days a week & sometimes 5 if you really want to lose weight faster. With your commitment issues, you should really just focus on your goals. If you don't stay with your diet & don't keep up with your exercise, you won't get to your ideal weight. It's necessary to be healthy, so it's not even about losing fat. It's about staying healthy & losing weight. Just because your family is centered around bread & pastas, does not mean you have to be. Ask them to whip you up a salad with either low fat dressing or salad spritzers, which you can find at local grocery stores. Try buying whole wheat bread & whole grain pastas. Avoid white bread & pasta, since there is a lot of carbs in them. Carbs aren't bad. Like everything else, they are just bad in large amounts. If you do need to eat what your family is on certain days, that's fine. Use portion control. Only take a bit & try to incorporate lots of veggies with your dinners whether its salads or other veggies. You do need sugar, but you can't overdo it. I would suggest eating Chewy Granola Bars. They only have 7-8g of sugar & come in a variety of flavors such as peanut butter chocolate chip. They're only 100 calories & will keep you satisfied if you're hungry. They're a good snack. Try sticking with sugar from fruit. You can make yourself fruit salads with strawberries, blueberries, peaches, pineapples, watermelon, cantalope, etc. You could top it with low fat whipped cream also. Granola is another good option. Try different yogurts too. As long as you stay focused & motiviated, you'll see results.

try some more protein stuff like chicken or steak.
