Question Posted Saturday August 18 2007, 12:57 am

I tried putting tea tree oil on my acne and found it burns like to the extreme. xD Is that supposed to happen?

It could be too strong, so add water to it and don't just put pure tea tree oil directly onto the spots.
If you see any sign of irritation, stop using it because it could infact make more damage.
It's a good product however, if your skin doesn't reject it, because it makes pus rise to the surface and dries the spots out. Lovely bit of information there!

Tea Tree Oil does sting slightly when used on spots/rashes etc. However, in some cases, skin can be too sensitive to use it. Try diluting the oil with water and using it. If your skin continues to burn during and after use or shows signs of an allergic reaction (a red, blotchy rash) then I suggest you visit a dermatologist who will be able to determine the problem. He/she will also suggest a range of alternative treatments.
