well the best thing to do is just simply listen..let them know you care and try to put yourself in those shoes and then go from there..just positive encouragement and understanding and caring is where to start and then try your best to imagine yourself in the same situation..like the other people said just follow your heart!

admit you dont have any idea what there feeling, it makes ppl mad when you make it sound like you know what their experiencing and you dont, i would just listen to yourself your woman intuition that is built in will tell you (i know that sounds weird but its just part of being maternal) anyway and just tell it to them straight, i usually not so gently tell ppl that their being selfish because usually their all caught up in their own problems, and if you have no idea what their talking about then ask your mom or a trusted adult they wont tell this girl you told them and they will give you great adive

Well it depends on the situation to begin with.

If its a friend/family member that is sick or has passed on then you would want to say something that would comfort them like "they're in a better place." or "I'll always be here if you want to talk"

I think the whole "i'll always be there" line can be used in any situation.

Honestly, there isn't always the right thing to say at all. Its different with every person and situation. Just follow your heart.

Sorry, thats tough.
