Is there any over-the-counter medication that helps calm you down?

If you go to your local pharmacy they should be able to advise you on the ones that are best suited to what you need. You could also try health shops for the same thing.

They will take into account any other medication you are taking and your lifestyle. Some calming tablets could make you feel sleepy which is not good if you drive. Some should not be taken at the same time as other medications. It is always best to check first.

Yes, there are herbal ones.
St. John's Wort - an herb
L-theanine a product found in Tea
Sam-E - by Nature Made
Valerian Root - an herb

These are products that are used extensively in Europe, and have had much success. Look them up and read about them. They are worth a try.
