You also lose some of your ability to reason (this varies immensly from person to person... some can just shake off the booze, others become totally retarded).
This means that you will have a greater tendency to act on raw emotion or impulse. Some people claim that your true personality comes out. Thats utter rubbish in my opinion, since your personality includes your reasoning ability and inhibitions. Basically drink brings out random parts of you, that in normal life would be more inhibited. Thats the reason you have so many different kinds of drunk personalities (and they are too many to mention here).
Now, on a side note, I think its important to never ever let someone use "I was drunk" as an excuse for something. After all, it was a choice to drink in the first place.

Alchahol influences your body and affects your self control, a perfectly nice person may be a total angry, abusive person when they drink.
Their "other" personalities are due to how their body works with the alchahol, everyone acts different when their drunk because everyones body works different.
