does it mean anything for a kid to not play/hang out with people his/her own age? like with older people means he/she is more mature and younger less mature?

not always it could be that they like hanging aound different people who happen to be older but it can also mean that they might think the kids there own age arent as understanding or they just perfer to be around older people who yes.. might be more mature...

It could mean that you are more mature, and you don't like to hang out with kids your age, because they seem too childish to you, or, the older people you hang out with are immature, and so they don't hang out with people their age, because find them childish, or a mix of the two.
