on those ddr machines you see in arcades and stuff, how do people know what to do with the rest of their body? i know the feet follow the arrows but when do you spin and turn and do other stuff?

well, a friend of mine is a ddr expert and she is able to do those tricks by memorizing the steps through a step chart for a specific song on this website: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

The cool thing is that she was able to do a whole song backwards without looking at the screen and she would have a high score. so you kinda have to create a routine for yourself, in order for you to do the spins and turns.

most of the people who can spin and turn during the song, have basically mastered it. like they know the song and steps well enough to know when they'll have time to spin and turn.
