log in screen Someone was using my computer user the account the other day and did something to it, but I do not really know what.
Now when I am booting the computer, at the select user account screen, there is a little message below my name that says I have 5 New mail messages. I have no new emails on my email adress account, so I guess it is for the guy that was using my computer.
So here is my question. How do I remove that sign?
(I use a pc with XP)

Go to start, then run. Type:
regedit
and press ok. Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER then Software then Microsoft then Windows then CurrentVersion and then click UnreadM. On the right, find and double-click MessageExpiryDays. Change the "value" to 0. The "unread messages" will now no longer be displayed on the welcome screen.
If that doesn't work, there is an option to do this under "logon" in tweakui:

The message is there because the user who went onto your account must have signed into their email instead of yours. Check your email again. The 'mail message' that comes up on the log in screen is from your Outlook Express email, not any other email service. If he/she did not use Outlook while on your account, then its for your email. It doesn't really matter though. Try deleting any new mail messages in your Outlook Express & make sure to check the spam folder in it also. It could be stored in different folders other than your inbox or could be in your deleted items. Make sure everything you want is either read or deleted & then restart your computer. You may want to empty your recycle bin also.
-hope that helped!♥ ]
My Friend has Vista..if you log out of your computer and don't turn it off and you were logged into a messenger, any messages you may have recieved you are notified of on that screen.
Hope i helped :)
