As the time for your first period gets closer, you may notice discharge in your underwear. This can range from clear to white - this is perfectly natural and healthy. There's nothing to worry about with this, unless it's accompanied by any discomfort or itching in your vagina.
In the days before your first period, you may notice slight cramps in your lower tummy or lower back. You may also be feeling irritable or sad. Your breasts may feel tender.
Every woman's body is different - some women barely notice when they get their periods, while others feel a lot of discomfort. If you are thinking you might be getting your period soon, you can carry around a pad with you - and make sure you understand how to use it!
