casino's make money

how does a casino make money? because all they are doing is hosting a place people play right? is like people pay upon entry? thanks a lot

No, in most casinos you don't pay upon entry. Some casinos have hotels (for example the first five floors are the gambling places, and the next fifty are hotel rooms for the gamblers). Also, those quarters that everyone throws into the machines so that they can play? Well, all those quarters go to the casino, or the the people that win something, which hardly ever happens.

When people loose the game they play, obviously, they loose money. That money goes to the casino.

EDIT: Sometimes, yes. However, generally there is not a winner because of poor odds.
