I have missed my period for the past five months does this mean I am pregnant and if not what other problem could it be?

Well. I could be. But to be on the safe side i would buy some tests [at least about 4-6 so then the result is sertun on what it says]. It also depends on how old you are and how many you have had. If you have always had periods and your quite old in having them, then you could be pregnant. But on the other hand you could well not be pregnant and so it is perfectly normal. Because as you grow up, you could miss or have an extra period because your body is getting used to the fact of periods. If your very worried about this and you have taken a pregnancy test and it came back as not pregnant then i would tell your mum about it and see what see thinks. You might even decided to go and see the doctor. Don't be embarresed to ask your mum because she has been thought the exact same thing and she will be the most help to you.
I could give you alot more advice but i don't know what age you are.
