careers? 14/f
okay so my parents started talking to me about careers and stuff but i have like no idea what i want to do. i love fashion [especially tokyo street fashion], but i don't want to be a designer, i was thinking maybe like a magazine journalist for fashion but i don't know. what are some jobs that have to do with fashion? and like do you know any websites where you can take a test that shows you what careers are good for you? and maybe one that gives you information on differnet careers?
i've tried googling it but everytime it's some stupid thing that you have to like pay for or it doesn't give me the information i'm looking for.
thank you sooo much! =]

May I also suggest photojournalism - you can take photos of fashion and write about it too. I love tokyo street fashion too! You can also have a double major in college. To take a test for careers, this is a good site: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
You can also be a stylist and dress people up on shoots! Just throwing out some ideas. ]
If you're also into writing, I'd say that journalism might be a good idea. But you have to be prepared to do lots of research and even more writing. And, most schools do not do specific magazine writing programs, so be prepared to do a broad overview of journalism in general, with some more focused classes later on as an upperclassman in college. Plus fashion magazines are VERY competitive when it comes to finding a job.
Fashion merchandising is an area you might be interested in - it's all about manufacturing items, buying, selling, marketing. And I know it's probably not what you had in mind in the long run, but many retail stores have sales associate positions where you can get a taste of merchandising. Even for a first job, you might want to check it out, to see if you're really interested in the buying/selling dynamics of fashion.
Hope that helps! ]
