Eating a lot before you run does result to cramps, or seeing what you ate again. About 2 or 3 hours before you run, eat a full meal. Then when you are starting to feel hungry again, go for something extremely light, like cheese, or peanuts. Toast is good as well. Also don't drink too much water before you run. Take a couple of sips. When you are done running, don't guzzle the water down, take smalls sips to reduce stomach aches.

Try every other step breathe in, then every other breath, breathe out. Keep your breathing steady. Also, if you arm form isn't right when you are running, it can cause a cramp. Remember to keep your elbows on your sides, and not cross your body, as you run.

That's all I got for yah, good luck.

You shouldn't eat before you run. But if you do, I heard once that fruits are good, because they give you energy for your run. You can also drink water before and during your run, though. And I, like the person below me, breathe in my nose and out my mouth. I also breathe slowely, and not too fast so that I don't get out of breath as quick.
Good Luck!
