Hi, I am new here and I need some advice. I am 14 and Im a girl, and I weigh 127 pounds. I want to lose weight, and get thinner, but I can't seem to stick to any diet, or stick to any exercise thing. I'll be good for like a few days, but then all my friends are pigging out so I end up doing it too! How can I learn to discipline myself, so I can get a better body and be healthier? and please dont say I should just be me or whatever, I need something that works.

LM answered Monday July 30 2007, 2:36 am: Depriving yourself completely doesn't work. Trust me, I've tried. Moderation is the key to basically everything, and it works. Wherever this pigging out is taking place, I'm assuming sleepovers, parties, things like that? Take something along that's healthy AND really good, for everyone to share. Low-cal versions of 7-layer dip & baked tortilla chips is a good choice, and is really filling and won't make you crash like pure sugar will. Instead of soda, drink milk, juice, water, tea, anything but soda. Again, you'll feel better afterwards- no sugar crash- and you'll get some vitamins in too. Discipline's easy for some. When you catch yourself mindlessly snacking, drink a glass of water instead and tell yourself that you don't NEED to eat half a bag of chocolate chips, and it won't help you reach your goal.
Okay, that answer started to ramble, and it's about 2:30 in the morning for me. So if this doesn't make any sense, inbox me and I'll clarify for you, haha.

So I jog twice a day. Well I mean you don't have to jog or anything, but you should walk. That way you can continue you eat what you want. I stopped drinking soda like Coke products and stuff like 2 weeks ago. So drink something more healthy that will help too. =] [ KWeeks's advice column | Ask KWeeks A Question ]
