Drawing Manga

Question Posted Monday July 16 2007, 3:07 pm

XD Yes, I think this is in the wrong place, but I couldn't really think of any other place to put this besides Hobbies...

Now, I got this book called Manga Madness, and it has given me good tips to help me get started with drawing Manga...but I would like to hear from people who do draw Manga, if they can give me their tips and some advice on learning how to draw the body and the clothes yadda yadda...and maybe how long it takes to get good with it...
Thanks in advance!

A good way to become a great artist is to buy some Manga books (optional). You can start off by practicing hair, shoes, the face, clothes, etc. You could focus on one thing and when you get the hang of it focus on the other things. You should also try to be creative by drawing and imagining your own eyes, clothes, hair, etc. Another thing to remember is the anatomy of the body, sometimes it won't look right if, for example, the arms are too short, or the knees are too high/low! It could take years to become a great artist but you'll get the hang of drawing and remember to be creative!

P.s. Practicing a lot can help you be a better artist!

it took me about 5 months and there are still some things i haven't learned but for the body i honestly think you shoul first focus on face hair and head but if you are already good at that than my best sugessten is get some charcal for shadowing it will make the body and clothes look much more detailed
