 period problems... birth control pills?15/f
I get bad period symptoms.... well I think they're bad anyway. I'm pretty sure they'd be classified as bad symptoms too.

i'vw talked to my mom about it a little, but i dont want to talk to my doctor because im pretty sure that if i did, it'd end up being something really serious and i dont want to deal with that.
i heard that birth control pills can make ur period go away.

is that true? because thats the answer ive been looking for.

if i dont have a period, then i wont have these problematic syptoms. ok....
so my mom says that you can be permanently infertile by taking birth control pills, but ever since i was little, i NEVER wanted to have biological children.

so i wouldnt care if i was infertile. whatever.

i dont need birth control pills for actual birth control, cause im a virgin and im waiting for marriage,
 but i want to know
do birth control pills stop ur period?
 are there any risks?
and if the risks are low and it does stop periods, is there any way i can convince my mom to let me take them?

 help me!!!!!!!!

First of all I have never heard anywhere that birth control makes you infertile. I've been on websites, etc. So she is lying about that or she may have a misconception about birth control. Birth control pills do NOT stop your period. However, this one brand called 'Seasonale' allows you just 4 periods a year.

 Risks/Side effects:

Stroke, blood clots, spotting or unpredictable menstrual bleeding.

I myself am on Loestrin 24 and I've had no problems period-wise. My periods are lighter since I've been on it. Then again, I've been more 'emotional' unfortunately.

While I personally do not take birth control, I have a few friends who do. It gets rid of your symptoms, or just make them a lot less bothersome. It calms cramps, fatigue, etc from what I've been told.
There are some types you can take that don't actually stop your period, but they can make it come only a few times a year. I'm sure you've seen the commercials on T.V.
There are risks, but it depends on which type of birth control you want to use.
I would reccomend talking to your doctor and mother about it (at the same time).
This way, you can both have all of your questions answered and your worries cleared.
I've never heard that you can become infertile from birth control, but I am not a doctor.
 Good Luck!
