Brown bleeding followed by a heavey period

Question Posted Sunday July 15 2007, 2:03 pm

Hi there,

I am on Cilets, birth control pill(21 pill with a 7 day rest).
I took it back to back due to holiday reasons.
A week before my period i had brown bleeding for about a week (old blood), then i started my period as usual on the correct day, although my period was heavey it only lasted three days heavey and two days very, very light. Is this normal? I usually have a period last 4-5 days heavey Sorry if it is a dumb question.
By the way i took one pill late by 9 hours(within the 12 hour limit).

Thanks

It's most definitely normal. Since you didn't take it that's why the the heavier flow lasted three days and the two days were very light. I have a flow kind of like that with my birth control. So it's truly normal, even if you took the pill late. I do that, and take it immediately when I can.

Don't worry about it, and it wasn't a dumb question. Message me if you need anything and I hoped I helped.

Hey. My names kayla and i just started my little advice page today, mostly because i just like to help people. Anyway, since i'm a girl also, i figured it might be more convenient and that i could probably answer this type of question better than a guy could. Well, since you were taking these pills back to back due to holiday reasons, i'd imagine that could be whats making this happen. However, its normal for girls to either have brown bleeding prior to their period or soon after their done with it. And some people dont even have their period on a schedule anymore, so i mean i dont really think its a major concern unless you just aren't having a period for an extended amount of time which of course, could mean your pregnant.
