I was wondering if the holocaust mueseum they went to in freedom writers was an actual mueseum, and where the mueseum is.

It sure is! My class took an overnight trip there, this year. It's in Washington D.C, and there are lots of other attractions around there, too!!

yes, there is a holocaust museum in washington, d.c. i've never been, but i'd really like to go. a few of my family members went, and one of my friends has gone, and they all said that it is traumatizing. i mean, you read about the holocaust or watch stuff about it on tv, but that's nothing compared to what you see in the museum. it sounds very interesting.

There is a Holocaust museum in the area of the Smithsonian Institution in Washing D.C.
I've never visited it though, because it was closed for my time in D.C.

hmm i think your talking about the holocaust exhibit in the Mueseum of tolerance, which is located in Los Angelos, California.
Hope you get to see this exhibit.
