No it's not wrong at all.
But you just have to think why go out with someone if you are never going to see them and you know you never will but if you like it then it's up to you and it is definetly not wrong! Unless there much much older than you.
Just be careful of who you pick.

The people who do so probably recieve much comfort from words, but words can't keep you warm...as in: a relationship is physical, also. It isn't wrong, but it is not the most useful way to spend your life.

its not wrong, but it IS dangerous. Okay, I know, if you're an adult and everything, its supposed to be okay, but I've tried the online dating thing SO MANY DANG TIMES, and they have all turned out to be really upsetting/weird/downright SCARY. I had one threaten to kill me, and the other straight out type my address he'd found online and say he was going to rape me. Its not safe, no matter what anyone tells you.
Be very careful.
However, a very close friend of mine has an online/telephone boyfriend whom she has no intentions of meeting, and she's doing just grand, so be careful, but have fun!

its pretty pointless to online date unless your actually going to see that person but if that is what you like to do then you do that
