The other day, my vagina was really itchy, for like half an hour, so I got really paranoid and thought I had a yeast infection, but there was no discharge or anything. The next day, it wasn't itchy, but I'm still really curious as to why it was itchy... I looked at my vagina in a mirror to see if I could see anything, and the skin of my labia was darker color than the rest of my body, but I heard that was normal, that the vagina could be different skin tones than the rest of your body.
Also, if I went to the doctor to see if it was a yeast infection, how would they diagnose it? What procedures would they do?
I'm 17

claireblue6 answered Thursday July 12 2007, 6:21 pm: Sometimes it gets itchy from irritated pubic hair follicles or if you haven't showered in a couple days. If it continues to itch, it might be an infection, but if it's just a one day thing, it's most likely cleanliness issues. Even if you shower everyday, maybe you should scrub a little harder "down there". You should be okay. I'm not sure about the procedures, but if you think it is a yeast infection, you should see a rash, inflammation, or redness. [ claireblue6's advice column | Ask claireblue6 A Question ]

Go to the doctor and see.
It is relitively simple to check. Just don't be afraid to do it, he/she is a doctor they know what they are doing!!!
and finnaly the treatment(if i am correct)is really simple i beileve it is a random series of antibioctics.....
But agian i am not 100% sure just about 99%...
