Christians follow the bible. They believe in god and jesus as a prophet.
Mormons (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) follow the Book of Mormon. They believe in different prophets. Many mormon churches are strict and don't allow alcohol and caffeine consumption or dating under the age of 18...but I know people who are mormon and they really don't follow those rules strictly. Patron_saint_of_Squirrels answered Monday July 9 2007, 1:02 pm: Okay, i AM mormon, so let me set you straight, happykelly is completely wrong. Back 100 years ago when everybody studied polgamy, so did mormons, and it wasnt because guys wanted to be 'pimps' it was because there were women who couldnt support themselves alone and so they're kind've like room mates, they helped eachother out. They stopped that 100 years ago, its against the law, and its against our believes. We dont get "married off" at age 14, we dont do the whole predetermined marriage thing. you choose who you want to be with and we beleive you will be with them forever and ever, if you get married in the temple and sealed and everythig, but thats another story. we dont get raped, though there is a branch off of the mormon church, a few hundretd years ago when Joseph smith died, some of the mormons though tthat it should have been Josephs son to be the next prophet, however its supposed to be determined by revolation through god, and so they branched off and thats what the big news flash thing was, its a reformed chruch. The book of mormon is NOT the mormon bible, its another testiment of jesus christ, like when tehy had the old testiment and tehy got the new testiment, its just another part of it, read it and pray about it. Theres WAY too much to explain, this does a fair enough job of it [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
its obviously a non-bias site, strictly fact, so it wont preach or bash teh mormon religion. [ Patron_saint_of_Squirrels's advice column | Ask Patron_saint_of_Squirrels A Question ]
x0xfabulous0x answered Monday July 9 2007, 11:55 am: Hey. My friend is a mormon and I'm christian and to be perfectly honest, I haven't found much difference between our religions other than the fact that mormons are much stricter about it. Also, christians have bibles whereas mormons use the book of mormon but I'm pretty sure it follows the same set up as a bible. You can google stuff about each religion or even try attending a church service for each. See if you can find any significant differnce. ♥ fabulous [ x0xfabulous0x's advice column | Ask x0xfabulous0x A Question ]
KellyHappy answered Monday July 9 2007, 11:47 am: mormons and christians have totally different beliefs. mormons do believe that they are teh true christians, but other christians generally dont believe that mormons are of teh same religion as them.
Most mormons study polygamy (having more than one wife) and usually, the girls are married off at about teh age of 14 sometimes to men twice or three times as old as them. and are usually raped and live in fear. the main use of women to mormon men, are to make babies to carry on the religion and family name. most mormon priests are self proclaimed profits, and say that God talks through them.
Mormons churches are often have the prefix The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
if you want to know more, then google the name Debbie Palmer. she was a polygamos wife and ran away from Bountiful.
also you could google Bountiful, Utah thats a strictly Mormon community.
its called The Book of Mormon. basically teh mormons "bible". it was translated from gold plates found in teh ground blah blah blah. haha you could also plug that into a search engine. itll tell you how it was founded and who translated it and how the plates were discovered and stuff.
