Dancing.

Question Posted Tuesday July 3 2007, 3:06 pm

I'm really insecure and self-contious about dancing. Whenever I'm at a school dance I try to avoid dancing as much as I can and it's not fun. I've actually stayed home from 5 dances in a row because I'm afraid to dance in front of people. Why? Because I can't dance.

Taking dancing lessons is not an option. I just wanna learn how to have fun and look good and know that I don't look like an idiot. Does anyone have any like easy to follow instructions or online videos that are easy to learn? I can't buy anything.

Any answers are appreciated. Thank you so much.

watch what other people are doing...don't copy completely but do what you can...everyone can dance...just move your body to the rhythm and it will just come naturally...you won't look like an idiot...chances are there are others who think they look stupid too but they don't...just do what feels natural to you don't try to choreograph anything or make it look fake

Try the video Neon's Belly Dance Party, you can get it on amazon.com or Netflix. They're very easy moves in simple routines and I usually use the routines while dancing, it looks natural and not like you're doing something choreographed, it worked for me.

Also, while at dances, try watching what other people are doing and trying it.
