Question Posted Monday July 2 2007, 7:33 pm

Ok so i have acne. And the last two weeks i have done EVERYTHING that my mom has told me to do so that it would clear up. I wash my face 2 times a day and put cream on it like 2 or 3 times a day too after washing my face. And its not getting better. I keep bringing up to her about the dermatologist[sp?] and shes always like " well if you would listen to me you wouldnt have this problem" and shes seen me working my butt of just to make it go away. Does anyone have any tips to convince my mom to take me to a dermatologist becuase I really want my face to clear up before the start of school!! Anything to say to her at all will help

thanksssssssssss
promise to rate too!!:]♥

ohkay maybe the problem is your wahsing your face too much. i watched a talk show on this the other day, and they said people think they are helping themselves out when they wash their face alot when in fact they are making it worse. washing two times a day is plenty enough. when i feeel my face is getting bad i use noxzema continious clean foaming cleanser. it makes your face tingle which i always felt makes me feel its getting the job done. though thats not always the case OR an even better one is clearasil ultra deep pore treatment. ANY clearasil ultra products do good.

but anyways if you tired everything and it still not working. then have a serious conversation with your mom, not when she is shopping for food or cleaning wait til all eyes are on you and tell her why you want this A) your embarrassed B)you feel you've done everything.

also tell her what consequences (sp?) you've gotten out of this (idk how bad it is) but if poeple make fun of you, you have scars, or people look at you funny. things liek that.

also remind her the dermentoligist (sp?) is a professional and can let you know what to do and what not to do. she does it every day for a living and can help you better than the ideas that haven't worked so far.

one thing you dont want to do is get mad, yell, tell her everything she has said hasn't worked. people are more likely to talk to you when you are acting normal and calm/ mature. hope i helped you =)

Personally, Proactiv has worked wonders for me.
I had really oily skin but when I started using Proactiv, and it dried my skin and got rid of blemishes.

Even though it's pricey, I'd personally recommend Proactiv.

I hope this helped! :]

You said that you've been trying to get rid of it for two weeks? It takes about two weeks to see any results at all babe. What kind of cream do you use? Stick with one brand of acne face wash and/or face cream for a full 3 weeks (I suggest neutrogena). For something OTC stuff works, for others it doesn't. OTC stuff didn't work for me. If it doesn't work for you, before you go to a dermatologist, ask your regular doctor to prescribe something. You can go to a dermatologist if you want but I found it much easier to go to my regular doctor and not have to find someone new that might charge more money. But anyway, he prescribed me Benzaclin. It works wonders, I haven't seen a zit on me in about 1 and half years.
