It's ok; it's natural. All you can do is let it happen. The mom may be detecting sickness (or etc.), so it's best to let nature take its course.
It's important not to handle the newborns; it usually makes conditions worse (your scent may encourage more neglect on the mother's part).
It's been a long time since I've bred mice, so I encourage you to research it more (for better detail). [ honu22's advice column | Ask honu22 A Question ]

Well I'd clean them becuase they could smell you or anything on them and that might be why the mom is attacking.

livelaughlove96 answered Sunday July 1 2007, 7:15 pm: The mother might be eating them because she can smell something on them and thinks its something/someone else. (at least its what hamsters do) they are every protective of thier children so what ever you do dont touch the new babies for a while, and if you HAVE to make sure your hands are clean, or you can use gloves which would be ideal. make sure wherever they are liekin your room or whatever that you dont spray anything in there while they are around. hope i helped =0 [ livelaughlove96's advice column | Ask livelaughlove96 A Question ]
