You can't keep your old songs, because iPods have a security feature, that, just in case the iPod is stolen, all the music/vids are erased when the iPod is connected to a new computer. The best you can do is move your stuff from the old computer to the new one, and transfer it all (sync) after it deletes it.

Plug your iPod in. There should be three choices, one of them being Transfer songs. Choose that one. Then when the songs are transfered go to File then click on Sync iPod. Then you can transfer your other purchases onto your ipod.

My explanation may be a little off because I have not done this in a while. If you need further assitance call the iPod service number. You can find it on iTunes, I believe.

Download this progran.
It is called Music Rescue.
It puts all the songs on your iPod into your iTunes.
I hope that's what you're asking.
If not, please edit.

<3 Laura.
