or can you tell?

Well I alway see it as.. if you don't slobber all over their face.. and they let you continue to kiss them.. You must be a good kisser.

If they breathe heavily is a sign. I think if you don't make a mess with saliva or bite too hard on their lips.. you're good.

You can always ask them.

You should kiss differently... to see what you like and what the person likes.

How gentle or rough you can be. Etc.

I suppose you just have to ask someone. As long as you don't slobber all over their face when you're kissing them, you're probably not a bad kisser. =)
