Bigger Boobs?

Question Posted Thursday June 28 2007, 3:00 am

Hey

Im 16/f and I still dont have my period. Yeah yeah im a real "late bloomer" Im seeing a doctor and she says im normal. Anyways my epifoses (wowww thats def not how you spell it) The things on your bones that close are still open. Currently my boobs are between an A and B cup. (depends which brand) They are super super sore all the time. Does this mean they are growing? About when do boobs stop growing? How long after your period to they stop.. or start? Im confused.

Yes, your boobs are most likely growing now. Typically, when you're boobs are experiencing pain, they are growing. Your boobs usually stop growing around age 18-20, but every girl is different. Yours may not stop growing until a little after that because you haven't started your period yet. Extra weight can also cause your boobs to be bigger and having a child can, aswell. Moreover, they usually start growing right before you have your period.

There are two possible answers. 1. You are a man who was secretly given a little bit of estrogen. Or 2. If you talk to your mom maybe she was a late bloomer too. Every ones different. This one girl is 27 and my sister is 15 and my sister is bigger chested than she is. Then another girl, my bf's sister got her period when she was 11 and started menopause at 16. So don't freak about it.

Yes, during puberty your breasts can become very tender and sore. In part, it is because they're growing, along with a few other factors. Generally your breasts will grow until the age of 18, but with your period not started yet, I'm not sure if yours may even grow after that.

You can ask your doctor about all of this just to make sure, but as far as I know it's completely normal.
