chi straightener.

Question Posted Saturday June 23 2007, 12:36 pm

when i straighten my hair (on a daily basis), after a long day it flips and waves at the bottom because i tuck my hair behind my ears pretty often. but my birthday is coming up and i can ask for a chi straightener. i was wondering if they really are worth the money and would prevent my hair from "unstraightening" during the day? also, any recommendations as to which one i should get (in the chi line) would be helpful. (:

Chis are completely worth the money. I swear. I used to think that they were way overpriced and that a 50 dollar straightener would do the same job as a chi. Then I used my friends, and I realized I was wrong. They keep my hair straight and smooth more than any other straightener, plus using one cuts down on the time it normally takes me to straighten my hair. Now, I really like the chi nano, but those are quite a bit more expensive. Any of them are great.

i have the chi 2" turbo straightener and i LOVE it. it straightens my hair so fast and leaves it really soft and smooth. but i know what you mean by your hair "unstraightening" during the day. the chi definitely prevents this a little. if the day isn't very humid then my hair will stay straight all day and not unstraighten. but if it is humid outside then my hair will still unstraighten.

but with a chi my hair doesn't unstraighten as much as it did with my old conair straightener.

so buy the chi, and also buy a hair product thats made to resist humidity.

Okay, I don`t have wavy hair -- I have CURLY hair. All of the other straighteners except a few including the chi I`ve tried, my hair ends up wavy by the end of the day.

I`ve had mine for about a year now & I l-o-v-e it. My hair stays straight during the WHOLE day. I just have the plain one -- It`s black & has tan plates & says Global Beauty on the top. Plus, it doesn`t damage it as much as my old ones.

Also, make sure you protect it. Try getting this stuff called BioSilk. It`s kinda expensive, but it is worth it & it makes your hair verrrrrry shiney. & when you wash it, use a shampoo for dry or damaged hair unless it makes your hair to oily. & make sure to deep condition is at least twice a week to keep it from getting dried out.

chi straightners are a complete splurge, i have a Jilbere de Paris tourmal line seris flat iron, it works perfect, and it only costs about 65 dollars. i'm shure a chi works just as well, they're just ridiculously over priced. my step mom whos a hair dresser bought me mine flat iron and i've only had one prolem with it in two years, and that was from me traveling with it every week.

I don't know about the straightener, but really the only ways to prevent that curl from behind your ear is to use hair gel in that spot, or stop pushing your hair behind your ear.
I have the same problem! lol!

Hope I helped!

I have a chi. It works REALLY well, and I totally recommend it. However, it doesn't really prevent your hair from becoming wavy. If you don't it to do that just like don't put your hair behind your ears, but make sure to keep it out of your face. The chi straightener only straightens very well, is better for your hair, has ceramic plates, basically it gives you less split ends and straightens amazingly well.
