Column color combinations??

So I'm looking for some cool font/background color combinations for my column. Any ideas are welcome....

Anything that doesn't have an obnoxious background is good. Seriously, leave the lime green with yellow text for... nothing. You want something that doesn't have to be highlighted to be readable, basically. The preset color schemes are good for this too.

I use this for most of the color schemes on my websites:

In some cases, those palettes don't give a good color for text and links; so use the "complementary color" and "opposite triad colors" for the text and links:

(put the background color in the left box, and leave the right box blank)
