If I wanted to own my own business, such as a tanning salon (or something along those lines), I know I would go to school to major in business. But what would I minor in? If there's not anything specific, what would be a good idea FOR ME to minor in?

You should minor in something like Health, Physical Education, or Nutrition. If you plan on owning a tanning salon, it would really help if you knew some stuff about staying in shape and staying healthy, since a tanning salon's purpose is to look good. Maybe even a minor in fashion design would be beneficial.

A sociology class could be important, but it actually all depends on how the college teaches it.
I would recommend economics or anything that involves dealing with people, such as sociology. Psychology could also be a good one if you want to learn how to manipulate people into buying into your business.

In addition to what the person below me said, you could do marketing [how to target your audience, etc.] You could probably do Entrepreurship (im not sure if i spelled that right) or Economics. Don't do Sociology though, because that deals wit why people act the way they do. Believe me, i took it this year and it was lammmeee. =] Hope I helped!

You should minor is something the would help you deal with the pulblic such as communications, sociaology or public relations. Also if you want to own your own business some finance and accounting classes couldn't hurt and you can't go wrong with computer classes.
