iPod won't update music

Question Posted Monday June 11 2007, 4:21 pm

Hey advice givers, how's life? :P
I have this problem with my mom's iPod, and I need to fix it, she said she'd get me 10 songs if I figured it out by googling something etc. So when I open iTunes, I go to the folder her music is in. She bought some new music and asked me to update it, so I did. I went to the library and copied the music into her folder. When I plug in her iPod it takes me to this COMPAQ Owner's disc folder that only appears when I update songs. Either on a CD, or iPod etc. On the iPod screen it says DO NOT DISCONNECT, which is normal. Then it takes me to this place where you can either hit Summary, Music, Podcasts, Photos, or Contacts. I hit music, and everything was working fine. But then it asked me if I wanted to replace the library with the selected playlists. So I checked off the playlists I wanted and it worked. After, at the top it said iPod sync is complete, but the iPod screen still said DO NOT DISCONNECT. Then I disconnected it anyway because it was taking WAY longer than it should to copy three songs! So I looked and none of the songs were there. Confused... much. Please help!
