proactiv worked for me for about a month but then it just stopped working, kind of like my skin got immuned to it. it also left my face red and dry and it peeled, especially in the winter. i heard it works great for some people though, so it really just depends on the person. also, proactiv doesn't really get rid of scars. if you decide to try it, i hope you get the best results.

I hated it.

It only works for some people. And I have the same type of skin as you, and it didn't do anything. And I used it for like 3 months. I don't know, I just didn't like it. But now, all I use is anti bacterial soap, what i use is called dial. it works really well. and you can find it basically anywhere that sells soap. (:

after reading the other answers, i think i can help you.

i have oily skin and used to ALWAYS have like a million breakouts. and i tried like every acne treatment out there. so i was considering getting proactiv. but then one day i went to CVS and saw this stuff called Acne Free that was suppose to be bette than Proactiv, so i bought it. I used it for like 2 months. At first it worked and cleared up most of my acne, but then it just stopped working for me and my acne got worse.

so now i used Proactiv and it is much better. I still get breakouts, but they are really small ones that aren't very noticable. no my skin is not completely clear, but its a lot better than it was before. so if you are will to pay for proactiv, I recommend trying it. you will see results quickly, and it will definitely clear up some of your breakouts.

good luck!

Proactive is actually a really good product, but you can get the same results with AcneFree at walmart for a lot less than Proactive, but if you're determined to use Proactive, it works REALLY well
hope i helped :]

Proactiv does work, it just takes a really long time to see results. Plus it's a bit expensive.

Something else you could do is try using a face wash that's just for oily skin. Neutrogena has two or three good face washes that can help treat oily skin.

There is also a spot treatment you could use for your individual pimples. All you have to do is crush an aspirin and mix it with lemon juice until it makes a thick paste. Put the paste on each pimple and leave it on for twenty minutes. Then rinse it off. Do that maybe two times a day and your skin will be clear, or mostly clear, the next day.

These alternativea are cheaper and you'll see results a lot faster than if you were to use Proactiv.

I've never used Proactiv, so I can't verify if it works or not, but I can tell you that whenever I want to try a product that I'm uncertain about, I always check to see if eBay has it first. You can almost always get what you want from there for a much cheaper price than you would anywhere else. Plus, if you try it and you like it, you know a place where you can always go to get more.

PS: eBay sells it and has lots of it. If you decide to use it, please let me know if it's effective and what you think of it. Good luck!
