My hair is very curly, but my bangs are straight. Idiotic straight. Like, they curl once at the scalp and then fall exactly pin straight across my face. It probably happens because I used to iron my bangs staright. But I did the rest of my hair too! Why is it happening? Pretty much my only options are to straighten them again or gel like there's no tomorrow. It's ugly and it doesn't belong. How can I get my bangs to curl like the rest of my hair? (P.S., I don't want it to look too unnatural, and our curling iron has a bigger rod than my spirals. Help!)

The hairs around your face dont curl because they have undergone a lot more damage so the natural curls and waves are stripped out. What tends to help me is after you take a shower, or when your hair is soaking wet, do not touch the hairs around your face, or as little as possible. If you are constantly messing with them to make them curly they wont curl. So it helps me to basically be patient and not touch them at all. I know its hard, but try it one time and see if it works. I also use curle life moose and shampoo. [ Laf16's advice column | Ask Laf16 A Question ]

Dunnworryjuzdoit answered Thursday June 7 2007, 12:08 am: well, my hair is curly and my bangs are always wavy no matter what I do unless I dont comb them out. I would recomend that after you shower or whatever, and your hair is still semi-wet take your bangs apart from the rest, put in a little leave in conditioner and twirl your finger around your hair (as if your finger were a curling iron, hold it there for a little bit and although it sucks you have to be patient, and then pull it out so your hair takes on a loose curl. That way theyre still technically small curls and will dry that way at the same time and can be styled in a way that you want. Every persons hair is different especially when it comes to curls but since your hair is curly its more prone to keep a curl. Hope it works for you, if you dont like the whole finger thing, another thing you can do but you have less control over how the curl will turn out but just take a pencil and curl your bang around that and then clip the pencil with a small claw horizontally so you get a spiral curl. Try pinning it to the side for a few minutes to give it a smoother natural wave. Everybodies hair is different so this might not work for you, but its worth a try.
