15/f. i'm so overwhelmed by everything right now and i just need help. i used to be so honest and always tell the truth, but now for some reason i find myself lying all the time, especially to my parents. whenever my parents are away my sister always has parties, and i always have to lie to protect her.
but i'm so over lying. it gets me upset to have to lie. i just want to be able to come home at night to my house, without a bunch of people here. then they all get drunk and sleep here.
what do i do? i don't want to betray my sister, but i hate lying. i've lied before to protect her, but i don't want to have to lie anymore.

It's really great that you have a tight bond with your sister to protect her like that, but she should see what an awkward situation she's putting you in. It shouldn't be your responsibility to deal with all the people and the lying and the guilt. Next time your sister plans a party, tell her straight out that you're going to tell your parents. If she doesn't have the party or throws a party somewhere else, then thats good. If she has the party anyway; well, you warned her. You shouldn't have to take your sister's consequences. Of course, you should warn her beforehand that you're done covering for her, so from that point on there should be no guilt for her actions and the consequences because she'll know in advance that she's not making a smart choice.
