LM answered Saturday June 2 2007, 2:32 pm: Get your hair trimmed. Your ends are probably splitting & are drier than the rest of your hair. At the same time, ask the stylist to cut some layers in and get rid of some of the bulk. It'll be easier to manage because there'll be less hair to deal with. & as it grows back in, it won't look bad- I promise. You'll just need to be re-shaped every couple months or so.
Find a good shampoo or conditioner that you like. Pantene Smooth & Sleek is amazing [$3 a bottle at WalMart] but my favorite ever is Tigi BedHead Moisture Maniac (or Dumb Blonde if you color your hair]. You can get two big bottles of it for about $20 at a salon. Whatever conditioner you use, leave it in for about 5 minutes to let it work.
This answer is getting really long.. haha.
Paul Mitchell makes a product called Super Skinny. It's a serum that tames even the craziest of curls, and it smells like apples. Try it.
Let your hair air dry after taking a shower, and brush it out with a wide-tooth comb to get tangles out. Blowdrying makes poof worse [unless you straiighten it after] :) [ LM's advice column | Ask LM A Question ]
CheerCandi answered Saturday June 2 2007, 12:28 pm: i have that same problem. DO NOT BLOW DRY YOUR HAIR. put some pink lotion(hair product) in it. let your hair dry out then tie it down with a bandana for a day. that should squish you hair. then put some mouse in it. you can also traighten it afterwards. but you have to keep it up. the reason your hair is dry is because of you pillow(it sucks all liquid out) so sleep with a badanna tightly on your head. when you wake up gel the edges and brush it back. in just a couple of days your hair should improve [ CheerCandi's advice column | Ask CheerCandi A Question ]

I know this may sound weird but my friend swears it works.
Wash your hair with shampoo in the shower.
Rinse off.
Then towel dry your hair (it should still be pretty damp).
Get some regular conditioner. Make sure the conditioner is not too watery, too thin of a consistency. If it is, you will lose your curl.
A very inexpensive brand is Suave Radiant Brunette or whatever hair color you are.
Rub a great amount in your hair and leave it in. DON'T wash it off, until you take a shower.
