female anatomy
Okay every time i go onto a site about female anatomy.
The pictures never look any different or like mine.
My "hood" clit is not hidden. My clit is rather huge. And my "lips" are not small either, they hang out.
I just feel weird.
I dont see any other diagrams

I know every person is different but why is the diagram the same?
I know that my friend has felt self conscious about it.

There are only two major anatomy books that are used in the medical field- at least general anatomy that we get in medical school- Gray's Anatomy (hence the play on words for the tv series) and Netter's.
The representation in the diagrams are for the medical community to study "basic" anatomy, but just like your DNA- everyone is different.
Depending on your age what you are describing is normal. Different aspects of your body are affected differently with hormones, and sometimes esp the genitalia which are very hormone dependent, can grow before the rest of you.
Unless you really feel that something is wrong- pain- a different growth on your labia etc. then I would see an OBGYN.
Otherwise, you're fine.

The diagrams are usually the same because no one commissions another medical sketch artist to do another sketch. Those sketches are widely published and distributed just because they are the "standard" diagram of their kind. There's not much call for anatomical sketch artists, so some images keep getting used over and over again.

hey...i dont really answer a lot on this site...i just have an account to ASK for advice actually but i saw your question and i could relate to it A LOT and its been something ive been concerned about for a while now...
many diagrams just shows a BASIC view of the vagina...and just puts everything in proportion and normal size just to diagram it and stuff like that...but in reality...EVERYONE has all different shapesand sizes and colors and EVERYTHING for different parts of their vaginas....
if youre talking about your "lips" hanging out as in your labia minora...like in the diagram..then thats totally normal....
many people have bigger inner vagina lips that hang out while others have really small ones and their outer lips are big...etc...everyones different...
i have the bigger inner lips and my whole life ive been self concious about it because i felt as though a guy would look at it as gross or weird and i felt different...but i asked advice on it and searched it and found that MANY other woman haev the same thing and in the end, no one even notices the difference...a vagina is a vagina...and unless theres a DRAMATIC defect in it [which you would notice as would doctors] then its totally normal...

if you read the paragraph below the diagram, it says the lips ary in size & its absoulutely normal, so don't be worried. you're completely fine. ♥ corey.
