Love Birds- gender, and playing with

Question Posted Thursday May 31 2007, 7:29 pm

I just got two lovebirds (one is yellow/green, the ohter is green/blue with a peach face), supposedly a female and male. The petshop owner let me know that females have sharp tales, while males have round tales. The one he said is a female is a little more stocky than the other one. I was searching online, and found that it's hard to tell which is which.. is there any other way to accurately distinguish male from female?

Another question-
The female (I'm assuming she is) is calmer than the other one, who is always scared and shreaks when I try holding it. Is there anything I can do to help the other one get used to me?

Thanks!

well the best way to know whcih is which is to take it to a vetrnarian they should know and to get the bird to get use to you just take it out alot spend more time with it and if that doesn't work than consult the vetranarian with that too thats the best way hopefully you had them checked out before you brought them home.
