weird task manager? yesterday, i was trying to end my AOL notifications by using using task manager [alt+cntrl+delete] in the "processes" tab. well, in the process, i went through and deleted things i didn't think i needed [i'm pretty computer-knowledgable.. except for now. haha.] i must have ended a process that i didn't mean to, because now my task manager looks like this when i open it [minus the black boxes, i did that so no one would see my user name]:

Theymos is spot-on.
In all the years I have been doing this, I apparently never double-clicked the window padding in task manager, nor have I even seen anyone else do it.
Congratulations on being unique. :-)
DN.
P.S. Good spotting Theymos! ]
**Thanks, DN. I didn't know about this myself, I found the answer using google. It's almost as if Microsoft was *trying* to confuse people with this "feature".**
Double click the blank area to the left of "end task".
I will not take this time to recommend alternative applications to the ones you are running.
I recommend you use an alternative to aim, which is buggy as hell. I use qnext:

You're using IE :'( , use opera, firefox, or k-meleon:

You can mimic the effects of Propel Accelerator by using tcp optimize and switching to opendns:

Norton AV is one of the worst antivirus applications around. It's big, bulky, and very ineffective. It's even been known to wipe out all the data from your disk. Use spyware terminator(without clam AV) AND either avast or antivir:

ctdetect.exe, ituneshelper.exe, qtask.exe, dsentry.exe(if you want autorun to behave properly), atiptaxx.exe(if you don't need it), ctfmon.exe, and BCMWLTRY.exe can all be safely disabled, by going to start>run and typing "msconfig", without quotes. Go to the startup tab, and uncheck the programs I listed. ]
