Ok well I don't get what chastised means.
I looked in the dictionary and it says to discipline and to criticize severely. Then it says to punish as in beating.
=/ I don't get what it means..

It's basically a harsher form of punishing someone or something.
Chastise= higher degree of punishing, scolding, etc.

Chastised - This is another word for punish. "The little boy was chastised for breaking the lamp"
